7:58pm EST: Well game over, we’re not wearing the infamous baby blue and gold today, so Kevin Curtis and Donovan McNabb will likely return to their inept performances of the first two weeks of the season.

8:19pm EST:  Westbrook is out. (ribs)  This game is going downhill fast and we’re still waiting for kickoff.

8:28pm EST:  Kickoff brings even more reasons for concern.  Not only is Westbrook out, but so is Brian Dawkins and of course Lito Sheppard.  Icing on the cake?  Sheldon Brown just walked off the field looking like he just separated his shoulder and former MVP candidate Reno Mahe just fumbled his initial punt return.  I guess he is entitled to 1 fumble, but at least he caught the ball.

8:43pm EST:  Eagles go three and out, followed by the Giants driving down into field goal range and missing a gimme.  Looks eerily similar to the start of the Redskins game two weeks ago.  We got an LT sighting!

8:45pm EST:  Correll Buckhalter is looking like a low budget Terrell Davis with a bum knee.  (I guess I could just say Terrell Davis since you naturally assume bum knee when you talk about him.)

8:47pm EST:  The first of what surely will be many carpet burners by Donovan McNabb followed by a Kevin Curtis drop.  I just LOVE the play calling.  Let’s see, Buckhalter up the gut for 18 yards,  Buckhalter up the gut for 8 yards,  Buckhalter for no gain.  Buckhalter up the gut for 12 yards,  followed by a McNabb carpet burner, a Kevin Curtis drop and another incompletion.  Trademark Andy Reid.

9:04pm EST:  McNabb sacked for the 3rd time and he's completed 1-5 passes so far.  The Giants defense is statisically close to the bottom of the league.  Why am I watching this game?

9:09pm EST:  Plaxico just pulled an Inspector Gadget arm catch on our whole secondary.  Giants up 7-0.  He kills the Birds every year.  If the Eagles don't make some noise on this next possession, we're going to be looking 1-3 right in the face.

9:18pm EST:  Reno Mahe moves the chains on the dump off.  He continues his push for MVP.

9:20pm EST:  I knew they wouldn't allow LT on the sidelines for just any old reason.  You don't want that type of bad influence around your players. (Bad Joke) Strahan just became the all-time NY Giants sack leader as McNabb goes down for the 4th time.  (At least momentarily, considering Umenyiora's performance.  Read on)

9:22pm EST:  FB Fake, HB Toss to Buckhalter moves the chains as he continues his Terrell Davis impersonation.

9:53pm EST:  Halftime and the Eagles haven't scored and have managed to throw away all chances at putting points on the board.  I'm off to ESPN to check out Mel Kiper's big board to see who we'll have a chance to draft with our top 10 draft pick.

10:10pm EST: Punt, Punt, Punt, Missed FG, Punt, Punt, Punt.  Pathetic stats of the day.  McNabb sacked for the 7th time, Umenyiora has 4 of them.  We may be witnessing the worst offensive performance in history.

10:33pm EST:  Well Donovan has officially given up by just dropping the ball on the ground for a Giants TD.  This game is really making me despise the Eagles this year.

11:01pm EST:  11 sacks for the Giants, 5 for Umenyiora.  I don't know what's worse; that the Eagles look like the worst team in the league right now, or that because of this debacle, Reid will neglect yet again to draft at the skill positions and will instead draft another offensive lineman project.

11:19pm EST: 12 sacks for the Giants, 6 for Umenyiora.  This is turning into one of those Steve McNair/Sam Madison things.  Back when McNair was with the Titans, he had a game where he threw three picks to Sam Madison.  Madison finished with maybe 6 or 7 picks, but that one game catapulted him into the Pro-Bowl and Madden Superstar status.  This game guarantees Umenyiora double digit sacks, a Pro-Bowl birth, the league lead in sacks, and probably an All-Madden selection.

This also just in, Strahan temporarily was the all-time Giants leader in sacks until he was surpassed by Umenyiora with 132.5 sacks in this game alone.

To end this blog and this atrocity late this Sunday evening, I'll leave you with Al Michael's quote to end this game:  "Umenyiora is halfway to Canton after tonight."
