I think as a sports fan I speak for all of us when I say basketball-reference.com and baseball-reference.com are the equivalent of the pipe for crackheads. You have everything you need in this small/harmless instrument and it takes you where you need to go instantaneously. Over time I've grown quite addicted to them as well. That's before I even mention how many arguments can ensue from its usage.
After taking "a hit" on one of these sites you feel stimulated statistically and this typically leads to confrontations revolving around this newfound epiphany you've reached. Who was better Mays or Mantle? Doc or Dominique? These sites provide you with all the info you need to reach these conclusions. It's like you're arguing with other junkies for their pipes or whose rocks are the best. Picture Halle and Samuel L. in "Jungle Fever".
